If you’re looking for an easy but impressive appetizer for a crowd, it’s time you get to know Fire Crackers—also known as Alabama Fire Crackers. They’re simple, delicious, and incredibly easy to make. This no bake recipe comes together with just a handful of ingredients and one key trick: be sure to shake the crackers well in the zip-top bag before letting them sit overnight, so they soak up every bit of that bold, irresistible flavor. Store these fire crackers in an air-tight container at room temperature. They should last up to a week.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. package of saltine crackers
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. about 2 packages ranch dressing mix
  • 3 Tbsp. red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups olive oil

Instructions

Mix marinade:

  • Using a large gallon zip-top plastic bag, pour in the olive oil, seasonings, and spices. Close the bag and knead to thoroughly mix the ingredients together.

Add crackers:

  • Place all 4 sleeves of crackers in the bag, re-seal, and gently turn the bag over several times to coat the crackers with the spice mixture. The more times you do, this the better the coating.

Rest:

  • Let the bag sit overnight.

Variations:
Feel free to make any substitutions you like to this fuss-free recipe, based on your taste preferences or on the ingredients you have at home. Swap out the Saltines for Ritz crackers, Cheez-Its, or Triscuits. Or use mini Saltines instead of full-size crackers for a snack guests can grab on the go by the handful.
You can also swap out the olive oil for any other neutrally flavored oil (such as avocado or vegetable), or customize the spices as you prefer.
