Lining the pizza pan with parchment paper should do the trick, but if you don’t have parchment paper on hand, spray the pan with nonstick spray before you begin arranging the crescent rolls on it.
The microwave is the easiest way to reheat slices of the chicken ring, but the oven will yield the best results. Heat it up to 325° and bake the leftover until they’re heated through.
You can freeze this chicken ring. Simply wrap the cooled wreath in foil and freeze it. Before eating it, remove the ring from the freezer, wait about a half an hour, then reheat it. Remove the foil and place the chicken ring on a greased baking sheet. Then, bake it in a preheated 325° oven until it’s heated through.
Variations
Try another kind of cheese: Cheddar is a natural substitution for the Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, but mozzarella could work as well. You can also play with adding a little cream cheese to the filling for some extra richness.
Switch up the soup: Try condensed cream of onion or cream of mushroom soup; they’ll both add a little more flavor to the filling.
Add more veggies: Mushrooms and spinach would pair nicely with the bell pepper and broccoli in the filling.
Spice it up: Experiment with your favorite dried herbs and seasonings. Salt and pepper, oregano and garlic powder would all be good ones to start with.
Mix in some more meat: Cubed ham, bacon bits or chopped, cooked bacon can all add some saltiness to complement the buttery crescent rolls.
Pull inspiration from other ring recipes: Check out other crescent roll wreaths and create your own concoction. Some of our other favorites are include the broccoli ham ring, pizza ring, cheeseburger crescent ring, chicken cordon bleu ring and the tuna crescent ring.
