Herbed Mushrooms with White Wine

Prep Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds fresh mushrooms sliced or buttons
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic minced, or chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Heat large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil, then mushrooms. (I like to use fresh sliced mushrooms.) Cook and stir mushrooms until they start to brown and caramelize, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add butter, garlic, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Cook and stir about 1 minute.
  • Add wine and lemon juice. Continue cooking for about 2 minutes or until most of the wine has evaporated.
  • Sprinkle with chopped chives, continue cooking 1 minute.

Notes

If using mushroom buttons, brush the mushrooms clean. Keep the mushrooms whole, or if they are large, cut them in half.
