Cranberry-Orange Scones

These delectable Cranberry-Orange Scones are refreshing autumn treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • ½ cup dried cranberries Soak cranberries in Orange Juice or Orange Liquor
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and orange zest in a bowl.
  • Cut cold butter in small pieces and cut into flour mixture until the pieces are about the size of a small pea.
  • Add dried cranberries and mix lightly with flour mixture.
  • Stir in heavy cream and mix until the dough starts to form. Continue mixing/kneading with hands until dough forms a ball.
  • Turn onto a lightly floured surface and shape into round disk and cut into 8 wedges.
  • Bake unfrozen on parchment for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned

Notes

Can egg wash and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top
Can be frozen. Place frozen scones on parchment paper and bake for 17-18 minutes @ 350 degrees
