Cranberry-Orange Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
- 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cut into cubes
- ½ cup dried cranberries Soak cranberries in Orange Juice or Orange Liquor
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and orange zest in a bowl.
- Cut cold butter in small pieces and cut into flour mixture until the pieces are about the size of a small pea.
- Add dried cranberries and mix lightly with flour mixture.
- Stir in heavy cream and mix until the dough starts to form. Continue mixing/kneading with hands until dough forms a ball.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface and shape into round disk and cut into 8 wedges.
- Bake unfrozen on parchment for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned
Notes
Can egg wash and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top
Can be frozen. Place frozen scones on parchment paper and bake for 17-18 minutes @ 350 degrees
