Another of the cakes I grew up with. Yummy!

Equipment

  • 10" Tube or Bundt Pan

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 Box Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 sticks Margarine (oleo)
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour (Sifted) DO NOT USE Self Rising Flour!
  • 5 Large Eggs

For the Glaze

  • 1 Box Brown Sugar
  • 1 Stick Margarine
  • 1 cup Carnation Milk
  • 1 pinch Creme of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

Cake

  • Preheat oven to 325°
  • Mix all ingredients together.
  • Pour mixture into a 10" greased & floured tube or bundt pan.
  • Bake for 1½ hours.
  • Let cool, remove from pan and glaze.

Glaze

  • Combine all ingredients and cook until icing stage. Pour over cake while still hot.
